Perfect Tense and Progressive ; irregular verbs ; Sixth grade grammar ; Homeschool

English, my weakest subject has been the hardest of all when it came to grammar. But after a few days of practice, I started to get the hang of it. It’s still my weakness but... I’m sort of getting better. Thanks to “Writers Choice: Grammar and Composition” and my incredible mother, I have learned to perfect tense, irregular verbs and progressive.

Perfect tenses:

Past perfect tense:
A past tense explains a past action that had already happened. The passed tense is expressed using had + the past particle of the verb.
Example: We had already signed the contract before you arrived.

Present perfect tense:
A present perfect tense is a verb that express an action or condition performed at an indefinite time in the past.
Example: They have paid the the health insurance copay.
One thing to keep in mind with the present perfect tense is that it can only be used when you don't know exactly when something or condition has been done in the past.
Incorrect Example: She has started her report yesterday. => She started her report yesterday

Future perfect tense:
The future perfect tense is the tense you use when an action or state is going to be future, and ends before something that will happen in the distant future.
Example: By 2021, she will have lived there for 12 months.
Example: By the time Mylk goes to college, tuitions will have decreased dramatically (I wish)

Progressive forms:

Present progressive: I am writing something interesting
Past progressive: I was writing something interesting
Future progressive: I will be writing something interesting
Present perfect progressive: I have been writing something interesting
Past perfect progressive: I had been writing something interesting
Future perfect progressive: I will have been writing something interesting
